Follow the recommended service schedules. Keep a log of all repairs and service. When you think about it, you know your car better than anyone else. You drive it every day and know how it feels and sounds when everything is right. So dont ignore its warning signals. Use all of your senses to inspect your car frequently. Check for: Unusual sounds, odors, drips, leaks, smoke, warning lights, gauge readings. Changes in acceleration, engine performance, gas mileage, fluid levels. Worn tires, belts, hoses. Problems in handling, braking, steering, vibrations. Note when the problem occurs. Is it constant or periodic? When the vehicle is cold or after the engine has warmed up? At all speeds? Only under acceleration? During braking? When shifting? When did the problem first start? Once you are at our location, communicate your findings. Be prepared to describe the symptoms. Carry a written list of the symptoms that you can give us. Resist the temptation to suggest a specific course of repair. Just as you would with your physician, tell us where it hurts and how long its been that way, but let the technician diagnose and recommend a remedy. Stay involved. . . Ask questions. Ask as many questions as you need. Do not be embarrassed to request lay definitions. Dont rush the technician to make an on-the-spot diagnosis. You may ask to be called and apprised of the problem, course of action, and costs before work begins. Eric and the staff at 5 Star are the best. We had a water pump go out driving through Tempe and were stranded about 4 miles from this auto repair shop. After waiting a short time for the tow truck, we arrived at 5 Star with only 45 minutes before closing. After we explained that we had a road trip planned for the very next day, Eric had one of his technicians take care of repairing our car the same night. Almost 2 hours after the business had closed, they called us to let us know the care was ready for pickup. I don't think any other shop in town would have gone the extra mile like this. Highly recommended.
I was having problems with my transmission, and after calling around other places, not happy with what they had to say, I called American Five Star, and talked to Eric. I told him that the other places I had called were recommending transmission replacement. Eric told me before he wanted to do that, he wanted to have a look at it first. In the end, it turned out to be only a solenoid inside the transmission. It was a fraction of the price of the replacement. My transmission works great now, and I'm very happy! I'd recommend them to anyone.

This is the best auto repair shop I have ever taken my car to. One of the Mechanics Paul walked me thru my vehicle and everything that was wrong and needed to be done. He explained it to me, a female, in a way I could understand. I was very apprciative for the extra time he took helping me with my vehicle. I highly recommend this shop for anyone looking for an honest reliable auto repair shop.
Im new to AZ and usuall get my car done at Mercedes Dealership. Eric and his team got my AMG Mercedes runnin Perfect at the Fraction of the cost. Im extremely happy with the service i got.
I had allot of work done on my car up to and including a new engine. I had to go back with some little things and when I did I was mad as hell. But i have to say Eric and the guys listened to my issues and resolved them on the spot. The reason I am giving them 4 stars is because I had to go back. But they stood behind the work they did, and fixed it when if was not happy. I would have given them 5 stars had I not had to take my car back. The work comes with a two year 20,000 mile warrenty. I cannot fault a business that stands behind it's work. My car runs great now so once the "buggs" got worked out. Turns out the work was quality. They don't do quick fixes; I like that. I would rather pay a little more and have it fixed right the first time.
Honerable and Honest was my experience at American Five Star Car Care Center. Owner/Chief Mechanic Eric Ali was very thourough in explaining the problem with my engines coils and why they went bad. Unlike many other shops I have gone to that just give you a price and no information. After I left I felt like I understood more about my cars engine than I would of ever thought and how to maintain it to avoid many problems down the road. I had taken my car to the dealer and got the price to fix of 1689.84 and had Eric fix everything the dealership said needed to be done for only 942.71 with a better and longer warranty on the work. I highly recommend this company and after one visit you will understand why.
Now I know why it's called Five Star Car Care Center. I was more than impressed with the service and the quality of that service that was given to my escalade. My wife took car to dealership and they wanted 1400 dollars for services. I than looked up a tempe auto repair center and found Eric at Five Star. I took my car in and showed him exactly what the dealership was going to do and what they wanted. Eric then showed me everything that needed to be done which was actually work than the dealership was going to do and the total cost was 733.47 out the door. So better service and a more than fair price. A customer for life we are now and highly recommend.
You must try this place best auto repair in tempe i found by far never will i use anyone else.
