XL Reinsurance America provides reinsurance products and customer services in the United States and Canada through its nine offices. Facultative opportunities are written directly through the company s branch offices in Atlanta; Chicago; Hartford, Conn.; Irvine, Calif.; New York; Philadelphia; and Walnut Creek, Calif. Treaty submissions from reinsurance intermediaries are handled through the head office in Stamford, Conn. The XL Capital group of companies is comprised of three main operating segments: insurance, reinsurance and financial products and services. The reinsurance segment, branded as XL Re, is organized on a geographical basis, reflecting the locations of the insurance and reinsurance companies that purchase property, casualty and life reinsurance coverage from the company.
