Restorative dentistry includes Fillings, Crowns and Bridges. * Fillings The most common materials for fillings are the beautiful tooth-colored composites which are bonded to the teeth or the traditional silver amalgam fillings. The choice is yours. * Crowns A dental crown, also known as a cap, is a tooth-shaped covering that is placed over a tooth. Crowns are generally used when fracture or decay is so extensive that filling materials cannot make the tooth strong enough. Crowns are made from a mold of the prepared tooth, and then seated after a couple of weeks. * Bridges A bridge consists of 2 crowns and a false tooth in between. Bridges are cemented in and are not removable. They are used to replace one or more missing teeth * Dentures Complete Dentures - These are removable appliances that replace all of the teeth. Unlike dental implants and bridges, which are more or less permanently affixed to the bone, dentures are prosthetic teeth attached to a supporting structure.
