I was referred to Dr. Lanza, Carolina Foot Clinic for several foot problems I was having. After x-raying my feet, Dr. Lanza saw how bad they really were. I had broken toes, degentative arthritis, a hammertoe and numerous other problems with my feet. He prescribed a surgical shoe and set me to the hospital to have a bone scan of my feet. My feet were so bad they ended up doing a complete body bone scan.The bone scan resulted in recommending an MRI. After all the test were done, I had a collasped broken vertibre in my lower back and degentative arthritis in my total spine, shoulders, knees, hips, wrists, legs and both feet. I had 3 breakes in my right foot and ankle. I had back surgery about 4 weeks from when this all started. I now wear a total back brace for the arthritis and a foot brace for my right foot. If Dr. Lanza had not been as quick and professional as he was, I do not know what condition I would be in now. Because he did in excess of his regular job I can get around and funtion to a hlgh level for my age. It is my understanding that you do not get well from this problem, but with the right doctors and sound advice you can have a pretty normal life. I will probably have more fractures and brakes as time goes on but I have an excellent doctor to help me through all of these problems.
